Jue Jue’s Safe Space is offering a range of online and in-person mental health programs, training sessions, and discussions this July. Dedicated to supporting the psychological well-being of Myanmar citizens globally, we invite you to register in advance and join our upcoming wellness initiatives.
MHPSS 2 Days Training
Jue Jue’s Safe Space is providing a range of training courses to raise Mental Health Awareness for Burmese migrant workers in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training is a program that shares and teaches about the psychosocial needs of Burmese migrant workers, how to build safe spaces, and how to support them.
Suicide Prevention In-Person Trainings in Ban Mai Nai Soi Refugee Camp and Mae Sot
Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides awareness-raising talks and training to prevent suicide among the Burmese migrant worker community and displaced persons in Mae Sot, Thailand.
In-person Intensive Suicide Prevention Training at Mae Sot
Jue Jue’s Safe Space successfully hosted an intensive training on Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma, focusing on body-based, polyvagal, and neurobiological techniques for mind-body healing. Led by a licensed mental health professional, this specialized program equipped practitioners and community workers with advanced therapeutic skills to effectively support survivors of profound trauma throughout Myanmar.
Tea Talk Support Group at Wildflower Community Support Centre, Mae Sot
The “လက်ဖက်စကား” (Tea Talk) Support Group is a weekly collaborative initiative between Jue Jue’s Safe Space and the Wildflower Community Support Centre, held every Wednesday for the Myanmar community in Mae Sot.
Each session focuses on a different theme and provides a safe, welcoming space where participants can openly share their personal experiences, stories, and emotions. Through meaningful conversations and mutual encouragement, the program promotes emotional well-being, strengthens social connections, and fosters resilience within the community.
In-person Support Group Activities at Padauk Phoo
Jue Jue’s Safe Space, in collaboration with Padauk Phoo, provides dedicated mental health support sessions for individuals displaced by war and armed conflict.
These support group activities provide a safe, compassionate, and welcoming environment where participants can openly share their experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, build supportive relationships, and improve their psychological well-being as they navigate the challenges of displacement and recovery.
Mental Health Strengthening Training at Joy House
Jue Jue’s Safe Space hosts an interactive Mental Health Strengthening Training at Joy House, providing a warm and supportive environment where participants learn about mental health and psychosocial support through real-life scenarios, self-reflection activities, interactive quizzes, and engaging group discussions.
Trainings and Activities at Mae Sot Community Center
Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides mental health services and mental health awareness programs for the Burmese migrant community in Mae Sot, Thailand.
Our programs include Mental Health Awareness Training, Anger Management Training, Stress Management Training, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training, Suicide Prevention Training, counseling services, support groups, and a variety of community-based activities and events.
In collaboration with local organizations in Mae Sot, we are committed to delivering accessible, high-quality mental health support, strengthening community resilience, and promoting the well-being of the Burmese migrant community.

Women & Mental Health

Jue Jue’s Safe Space has been providing mental health services to women refugees, pregnant women, survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence, as well as women leaders and women activists since 2021. We provide mental health trainings, resilience building programs, and support group sessions for women in collaboration with other women’s organizations.

Discovering Inner Peace for Human Rights Defenders

In collaboration with GEN, Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides mental health and well-being training for women leaders and human rights defenders. The program is designed to strengthen emotional resilience, promote self-care, and equip participants with practical strategies to manage stress, prevent burnout, and protect their mental well-being while carrying out their important work.

“စာနာမှုနှင့်လက်ကမ်းကြို” with Feminist Movement Myanmar (FMM)
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Jue Jue’s Safe Space and Feminist Movement Myanmar (FMM) jointly hosted an online webinar titled “Empathy and Reaching Out”, focusing on suicide prevention and intervention strategies for persons with disabilities.
To ensure accessibility, the webinar included sign language interpretation and live captions. Participants gained practical skills, knowledge, and empathy to help create safe spaces and provide effective support for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and emotional distress.
Resilience During Crisis with
Dr. Miemie Winn Byrd
The online webinar "Resilience During Crisis" brought together prominent experts, including retired professor and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Miemie Winn Byrd and licensed mental health specialist Jue Jue, to provide emotional support and survival strategies during times of profound adversity.
The session focused on strengthening internal coping mechanisms, building community resilience, and offering practical guidance on how to maintain psychological well-being and move forward through ongoing systemic crises.

Jue Jue’s Safe Space successfully conducted support and training sessions as part of the Community Well-Being Initiative under the Collective Healing Initiatives, in collaboration with the Resilience Women’s Creative Network.
The sessions focused on promoting mental well-being, strengthening resilience, and creating a safe, supportive environment where participants could enhance their emotional well-being and build meaningful community connections.

Resilience as Resistance – Trauma Healing for Myanmar Women Amid Crises
Jue Jue’s Safe Space participated in the UN NGO Parallel Event, “Resilience as Resistance – Trauma Healing for Myanmar Women Amid Crises”, where Myanmar mental health professionals shared insights on trauma-informed care, healing, and resilience for women affected by conflict and ongoing crises.
Conducted in English, the session highlighted the importance of accessible mental health support, psychosocial well-being, and community resilience, providing valuable knowledge for mental health professionals, humanitarian workers, advocates, and others committed to supporting Myanmar women.
Unbroken Threads Event with the
Resilient Women’s Creative Network
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Jue Jue’s Safe Space supported its partner organization, the Resilient Women’s Creative Network, during the Unbroken Threads event held at the Queen Palace Hotel in Mae Sot.
Collective Healing Initiative in Southern Shan, Myanmar
As part of its Collective Healing Initiative, Jue Jue’s Safe Space organized a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) program titled “Let’s Set Our Intentions” for children and women affected by ongoing crises in Southern Shan, Myanmar.

Youth & Students

Youths and students represent our future, yet many currently face unprecedented stress, academic pressure, and displacement during their crucial developmental years. At Jue Jue’s Safe Space, we are committed to empowering young people by creating secure, welcoming environments for self-expression. Through tailored psychosocial programs and mental health training, we equip them with the emotional resilience needed to navigate difficult life transitions and shape a brighter tomorrow.

School Counseling Project in Demoso
Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides mental health services and psychosocial support to Myanmar students and young people, regardless of their location. Through its Demoso Team in Karenni State, JJSS works directly with local communities to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
Mental Health Discussion & Podcast Session with the Burma Students' Association at Chiang Mai University
Jue Jue’s Safe Space collaborates with the Burma Students' Association at Chiang Mai University to promote mental health awareness among Myanmar youth and students.
Through interviews, podcasts, and live discussion sessions, the program shares practical stress management strategies, mental health knowledge, and psychosocial well-being resources to encourage resilience and open conversations about mental health.
Collective Healing Initiative at SAW
As part of its Collective Healing Initiative, Jue Jue’s Safe Space organized psychosocial support activities for children and women at Social Action for Women (SAW).
Through guided discussions and interactive activities, participants reflected on their personal journeys, shared the ways they have supported others, explored their emotions, and strengthened their sense of self, resilience, and community connection in a safe and supportive environment.
Collective Healing Initiative:
Let’s Talk – Breaking Stigma Together
As part of its Collective Healing Initiative, Jue Jue’s Safe Space collaborated with Morning Glory to host a two-hour session titled “Let’s Talk: Breaking Stigma Together” for students and young people.
The session focused on addressing misconceptions about mental health, encouraging open conversations, reducing stigma, and creating a safe and supportive space for learning, reflection, and discussion within the community.

Myanmar Diaspora in the U.S.

Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides mental health services to Burmese migrant workers, young students, women, and political asylum seekers in the United States. Founder Jue Jue Min Thu has actively participated in lectures and mental health conversations in Hawaii, California, New York, and Arizona to promote the mental health of the Burmese community in the United States.

Handling U.S.
Immigration Stressors
Jue Jue’s Safe Space participated in the town hall meeting “Handling U.S. Immigration Stressors”, held at the Waikiki Yacht Club to address the psychological and practical challenges experienced by Myanmar nationals living in the United States.
Featuring insights from legal experts and mental health professional Ms. Jue Jue Min Thu, the event provided practical guidance, emotional support, and mental health resources to help participants navigate immigration-related stress, uncertainty, and anxiety while strengthening community resilience.
Fundraising for Earthquake
Survivors in Myanmar
Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides emergency humanitarian assistance, fundraising support, mental health services, and psychosocial support to individuals and communities affected by earthquakes and other natural disasters in Myanmar.
Through these initiatives, we respond to immediate humanitarian needs while promoting long-term recovery, emotional resilience, and psychological well-being for survivors, families, and affected communities during times of crisis.

Myanmar Mental Health Talk at the Great Decisions Group
Jue Jue’s Safe Space has hosted webinars and public discussions to provide mental health education and psychosocial support for Myanmar communities affected by political conflict, displacement, and ongoing human rights violations.
Through events such as the Great Decisions Group discussion on the geopolitical aspects of Asia, Jue Jue’s Safe Space has also raised international awareness of the mental health impacts of the crisis in Myanmar while advocating for the well-being, resilience, and human rights of affected communities.

Myanmar Mental Health Talk in the San Francisco Bay Area
Jue Jue’s Safe Space hosted its first mental health awareness talk for the Myanmar community in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. The session explored mental health challenges affecting Myanmar communities within the broader geopolitical context of Asia and encouraged open conversations on psychological well-being.
Following this event, Jue Jue’s Safe Space continued its outreach by organizing another mental health awareness talk for the Myanmar community in Phoenix, Arizona.

Suicide Prevention
Community Walk
In recognition of International Suicide Prevention Month, Jue Jue’s Safe Space participated in the Out of the Darkness 2025 Suicide Prevention Community Walk in Hawaii, USA, joining survivors, advocates, and community organizations in promoting hope, raising awareness, and supporting suicide prevention efforts.
The event encouraged open conversations about suicide prevention, honored those affected by suicide, and reinforced the importance of compassion, community support, and access to mental health resources for everyone.

These programs aim to reduce mental health stigma, encourage open conversations, and equip Myanmar immigrants with practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and the emotional challenges associated with resettlement and everyday life.
Trauma-Informed Therapies and Healing Collective Trauma in Myanmar Webinar at the University of Hawaiʻi
Jue Jue’s Safe Space participated in the Trauma-Informed Therapies and Healing Collective Trauma in Myanmar webinar at the University of Hawaiʻi, sharing knowledge and experience on trauma-informed mental health care for communities affected by conflict and displacement in Myanmar.
The webinar supported mental health professionals, counselors, and community support workers by promoting trauma-informed practices, psychological well-being, self-care, and strategies to prevent burnout and secondary traumatic stress while providing care to others.
Geopolitical Aspects of Asia: Myanmar Mental Health Talk at Washington High School
Jue Jue’s Safe Space provides mental health awareness training, educational activities, and public talks through both online and in-person programs. As part of its international outreach, JJSS has organized mental health awareness talks for Myanmar communities across the United States.
Under the theme “Geopolitical Aspects of Asia: Myanmar Mental Health”, JJSS Founder Ms. Jue Jue Min Thu delivered mental health talks at Washington High School and other locations in the United States. These sessions explored the impact of regional geopolitical challenges on the mental well-being of Myanmar communities while promoting awareness, resilience, and access to mental health support.
Closing the Generation Gap – Organized by the Su Myat Than Foundation
Jue Jue’s Safe Space participated in the Closing the Generation Gap seminar organized by the Su Myat Than Foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area to raise awareness of suicide prevention and mental health within the Myanmar diaspora.
Led by JJSS Founder Ms. Jue Jue Min Thu, the seminar focused on strengthening communication between generations, reducing mental health stigma, and promoting early support and suicide prevention through greater understanding, empathy, and community connection.

Rohingya Refugees and Mental Health

Jue Jue’s Safe Space also provides mental health services to political refugees in Myanmar and Thailand. We provide mental health knowledge sharing, live discussions, suicide prevention education, and other mental health services to displaced brothers and sisters in Mae Sot, Thailand, and Rohingya brothers and sisters everywhere.

Rohingya Community (Live Discussion)
Jue Jue’s Safe Space organized a live discussion to share mental health knowledge and provide psychosocial support for members of the Rohingya community who have experienced stress, trauma, and emotional distress resulting from human rights violations and displacement.
The session encouraged open dialogue, promoted emotional healing, and provided practical guidance on coping with psychological challenges in a safe and supportive environment.

for Rohingya's Day (Live Discussion)
In commemoration of Rohingya Day, Jue Jue’s Safe Space hosted a live discussion with Hafsar Tameesuddin, a Rohingya woman, who shared her perspective on the emotional trauma and lived experiences faced by the Rohingya community.
Jue Jue’s Safe Space also discussed the topic from a mental health perspective, creating a meaningful space to raise awareness, understanding, and empathy.
Stress Management for Teachers in Rohingya Refugee Camp
At Jue Jue’s Safe Space, we recognize the immense psychological toll of displacement and migration. In response to the complex trauma and chronic stressors faced within refugee camps, our trainers have actively delivered dedicated Stress Management and Psychological First Aid training specifically tailored for teachers working in Rohingya refugee camps.
By equipping educators with the tools to manage their own secondary stress and support their classrooms, we aim to foster resilient, trauma-informed environments where both teachers and children can find a true sense of safety and healing.

LGBTQIA+

Jue Jue’s Safe Space also collaborates with other LGBTQ+ organizations to share mental health knowledge for LGBTQ+ members, and create safe communities for LGBTQ+ members.

Gender-Affirming Care
Jue Jue’s Safe Space hosted an online webinar titled "Gender-Affirming Care" to explore the medical, psychological, and social support systems that are important for individuals undergoing gender transition.
Led by international Patient Community Navigator Avery Aetonu and licensed social worker Ms. Jue Jue Min Thu, the session provided practical guidance on managing transition-related stress, promoting mental and physical well-being, and creating safe, inclusive, and affirming environments for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
Mental Health in LGBTQ+
Jue Jue’s Safe Space hosted a live Facebook session to challenge deep-rooted societal stereotypes and address the discrimination faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Myanmar.
Featuring the personal journey of Ko Long Long, the event highlighted the resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals who achieve personal success and support their families, fostering open dialogue and promoting inclusivity among allies and the broader community.
Living in Harmony with Pride (Collaboration with Alpha Learn)
As part of the Alpha Care Program, Alpha Learn collaborated with Jue Jue’s Safe Space to host a joint livestream session titled "The Pride".
Facilitated by Ms. Jue Jue Min Thu and Ma Saw Han Nway Oo, the session promoted diversity, inclusion, and community well-being by discussing respectful language for LGBTQ+ individuals, strategies for creating safe and affirming spaces, and the importance of living authentically with pride and dignity.
Pride of Top Ten Percent
Jue Jue’s Safe Space, in collaboration with Kings N Queens and the Myanmar Rainbow Political Community, created a safe community event for LGBTQ+ members in Mae Sot, Thailand, called “Pride of Top 10%.”
The event included mental health education, trauma support, interactive quizzes, and entertainment to promote well-being, community connection, and an inclusive environment.
